Idaho Summer 2018

Charly took two weeks off this year to go back to Idaho as family. The first thing we did when we got there was go stay at our town home that we are renting to his family right now. The furniture had changed, but it still felt like home. Joe and Steph were out of town for a couple of days, so we had the place to ourselves and it really made the trip fun. We were able to enjoy Rexburg- the splash park, hang out with friends all day, taco trucks and lunch dates all while having a home base to come back to to decompress. While we were over there we took the time to go to Jackson and do some small family hikes. We got there later in the day and it had just stopped raining, so we had the place to ourselves!

After that we attempted Mount Heyburn, which is a post in itself, and we went and stayed the rest of the trip in Blackfoot. The Hill family Reunion was the second week and we did a staycation, where everyone put tents in the backyard and slept. This was our last time in that house, the one Charly grew up in, since his parents are building a newer one and have already sold that one since our trip. I'm so glad that we got to make a few extra memories there, mostly ones of bounce houses, catching up, zip lines, water fights, family home evenings, homemade food, the Blackfoot fair, the list goes on :).

Requisite Plane Photos(on both our way there and our way back)

Teton National Park

^^I love it when the clouds sit in the mountains, as if they need a rest. I also love when the skies open up after a cloudy day.

Chilling in Rexburg
^^I need to get better at documenting other people then Eliza. We saw so many friends this weekend and it felt so good to catch up. Also, I had been waiting years to get Em her own child size cone from our favorite ice cream shop in town. She was equally stoked.

Our Time in Blackfoot
Eliza ran herself out and eventually got a double ear infection. We had no idea! We thought it was just heat exhaustion the first day because she was falling asleep all over us, and that is really unusual. Then the last day, the one we were traveling home for, she started throwing up that morning! We weren't sure if we should cancel our flights or what. Eventually we gave her a priesthood blessing and left the the house to go home. We kept her dosed on Tylenol and she didn't cry once on the plane, which feels like a miracle because when we got home the next day her ear drum burst. When I finally figured it out I took her to the doctor, and we also enjoyed a few more cuddles where she slept on us while we watched t.v. (so rare!).

I wish we had some true photos of how intense that water fight was, but I don't think anyone was brave enough to bring their camera out during it. I should clarify that the photos of Em wet in a pink shirt are of a different day when she was playing in the water drip, though.

Lastly, Craters of the Moon
^^Again, I really need to get better at documenting other people because Charlie's whole family did this day trip! Also, we hiked to the top of this peak and it was incredibly windy- I swear we documented our hair flying everywhere but yet, I can't find any photos of it.
