Phone Dump/Lately

Lately we have just kept busy doing lots of Spring weather things here, since it is Florida and Florida doesn't believe in Winter. Spring is the closest I can come to describing the weather haha. We have this mile long to do list that is starting to haunt us and getting some blog posts out so that I can remember some of what we've done and haveing photos to look through when I don't feel like going through the thousands on my computer is one of them. So, here goes.

We have made a few trips South to Sebastian Inlet. Once was to "try" to surf which ended in us just goofing off in the waves until we went to the kid friendly inlet part and swam around some manatees and a sea turtle. The other was to go to the Treasure Museum, where we saw a super long snake and dreamed of making millions from just happening upon some treasure on the beach. The fact that we were in water the first time and that the second I was battling some severe insomnia means mostly just car pics. Also, it's important to note that we stopped and ate breakfast at the Blueberry Muffin, as per tradition.

We have enjoyed eating out at new places, although it isn't as often as when we were in Idaho- in a good way- it is more enjoyable because every place is new. Although, I have been craving Rexburg's taco bus! Favorites so far are Petty's, Indian Food, Sabai Thai, Dakine Diegos, Grills, the Surfing Turtle, Heavenly Treats and Publix! Also the place called Cabana Shores that we biked to one evening- Charly put Em down for her nap and then went surfing, came home, and watched her while I went climbing. I was pulling into our development as they were heading out on Charly's bike and there was no way Eliza was gonna let us take her inside without a proper ride. So I grabbed my bike and we pedaled around until we decided to go get dinner. It was perfect- our table overlooked the river and we ate our meal as the sun set. We even ordered Eliza her own kiddie meal for the second time ever and when it came it was actually, get this, healthy! And I know you would think everything makes the favorites list, but there are a couple of places we ate at that weren't worth it and some that were just ok. Just so you know ;).

We celebrated halloween and dressed up for the first time since Charly and I were both kids- Eliza was a little lamb, I was a sheep dog, and Charly was a shepherd. I'd say we went 50 percent on the all in scale of our costumes but at least we tried? On the trick or treating front though, Eliza was definitely all in. We let her have her bag of candy as we drove home since we didn't think she knew what it was. When we got home we opened the sliding car door to a giggly babe who had just devoured, through the wrapper, a good portion of a fun sized snickers bar.

We have enjoyed surfing and all our beach days and never knew Surfing could bring us close to such wildlife- we've seen a few dolphins, sea turtles, and manatees all within 10-15 feet of us while being out. Combined with being out there as the sun rises or while Eliza plays on the shore with Grandma and Grandpa and these beach days are pretty perfect. Especially when it comes to holding Em's hand as the waves come up to her and the squeals of joy she gets. I wish I had that on video.

We have also loved just being outside, all year round, in general. The dolphins always seem to be out and the water inviting. The pools a little cold for my taste right now, but Eliza still loves playing on the front step and anytime we are on the patio sits by the gate entrance and points to it to be let out.

Some big news is that we bought a house! It is in a perfect location to us and only a ten minute drive to the beach or my family. It is brand new but it is called an express home and needed to be repainted and have things like lighting and towel holders put in. Needless to say, it has kept us buuuusy.
