Summer is Here...

...finally!

Here are some memorable moments so far...

>Charly and I have been figuring out climbing and biking with a toddler. Sometimes it's a hit, sometimes it's a miss, most times if we can't get someone to watch her/help watch her out there we don't even bother. We have had some good days though, making the ones we have count in ways we didn't when we were able to head out to Kelly Canyon 5 days a week in that pre-child life of ours. (Post-child life is still so much better). Here are some of the ones that have been extra memorable:

>>We had a failed climbing attempt at Pointless. 2 people + 1 toddler = 1 warm route and various amounts of crying. We also had a succesful day there gratuitous to some friends who took shifts watching Em. The successful day actually happened first which is probably why we got cocky about our parenting abilities...
>>And some successful mountain biking days:
>>On my birthday Charly took off work and we climbed at the Playground near Blackfoot while Marcie (who is awesome) watched Em. I haven't rappelled that often, so before rappelling into the crag I definitely said a little prayer haha.

>Charly and I went on a mini road trip one Sunday and ended up hiking up to this cave. We had seen it so many times driving past it while on our way to other adventures, but had never made the effort to go inside it. It was such letdown. Filled with horse and bird poop and on the way down Chuck was like "that was the most boring cave, it's like it just sits there to lure in people like us." Playing with Em in the stream after, though, was solid fun.

>Our Nephew, Bradley, got home from his mission recently so we have been back and forth from Blackfoot celebrating that and Mother's day quite a bit.

>A Cress Creek hike we took on another random Sunday.

>Surviving eating out with Em on a day when she was being particularly ornery. Not pictured: her standing in the booth playing with some forks in a full pitcher of water.

>Charly getting a hair cut from his mom.

>Playdates, dinner dates, and park dates with friends.

Also, climbing dates with mom and fellow gym rats.

>Catching the pre-air show practice the night before and then the real thing the day of. definitely is nice living right by a small airport and plane museum.

Pointless Adventures with Shae...

...in which she, who hasn't climbed in two years, supports the idea of our warm up climb being a 5.10 and me projecting a harder climb for what probably felt as long as it took for this question to be answered. That kind of friend support just kind of deserves its own post, ya know? :)

Definitely not a perfect Friday evening or anything.
